Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. in the United States is seeking a Manager Trainee to learn and support the management of a small driver count and non-traditional shifts, including nights and weekends.

The role focuses on safe, timely freight movement, load assignment, and superior customer service while training toward DOT compliance and regulatory adherence. The trainee will interact with drivers, customers, and internal teams to optimize routing, planning, and delivery, contributing to profitability

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or GED with related experience as alternative.
• Willingness to travel to account, customer and company events.
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends.
• Willingness to regional relocate depending on account assignment.

Responsibilities

• Learn to build and maintain relationships with drivers and safe outside carriers.
• Fill in for absent personnel and on special projects to optimize fleet operations.
• Learn personnel management including driver training and orientation.
• Maximize efficiency of fleet operations and profitability; present reporting and financial analysis.
• Manage inventory, assets, and driver assignments to balance equipment in market.
• Perform payroll, budgeting, driver counseling, and invoicing related tasks.
• Coordinate with maintenance for preventive maintenance and safety issues.
• Work with drivers, customers and internal teams to resolve service and routing issues.
• Maintain the company's safety culture and ensure DOT compliance.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, or Supply Chain

GED/High School Diploma with 1 year of relevant experience
