Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is seeking a Manager Trainee to learn the management of a small driver count and non-traditional shifts, including nights and weekends, ensuring safe and timely movement of freight and top-tier customer service.

You will be trained to comply with DOT regulations, manage driver compliance, and coordinate with internal and external contacts for planning, routing, monitoring, and delivery of freight.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field or 1 year management/transportation experience with a HS diploma/GED.
• Willingness to travel to account, customer, and company event locations when applicable.
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends.
• Willingness to relocate regionally depending on assignment.

Responsibilities

• Learn to build and maintain positive relationships with drivers and carriers to optimize onboarding and productivity.
• Fill in for absent personnel and assist with fleet operations projects to improve profitability.
• Learn to train drivers and staff, including customer systems support.
• Plan, route, and monitor freight movement to ensure safe, on-time service and meet customer requirements.
• Assist with administrative duties such as payroll, budgeting, invoicing, and reporting.
