J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is seeking a Manager Trainee to learn driver management and non-traditional shifts, including nights and weekends, to ensure safe, timely freight movement and strong customer service. Training emphasizes DOT compliance and regulatory responsibilities for drivers.

The role involves coordinating with drivers, customers, and internal teams to plan routes, monitor performance, and develop reports that support profitability within a large logistics organization.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with up to 4 years of equivalent education, experience, and training.
• Willingness to travel to account, customer, and company events when applicable.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred with ability to work across multiple shifts including nights/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Learn to build positive relationships with drivers and outside carriers for smooth carrier setup.
• Fill in for absent personnel and support fleet optimization projects.
• Training and orientation of drivers and other staff on internal systems.
• Assist in monitoring KPIs and create customer reporting and financial analysis.
• Assist in inventory, asset management, and driver assignment to balance equipment.
• Handle payroll, budgets, pay issues, invoicing, and reporting tasks.
• Assist with yard management, maintenance coordination, and safety compliance.
• Work with drivers, customers, and staff to resolve service, routing, or payment issues.
• Support safety culture through driver messages, training, and policy enforcement.
