Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is seeking a Manager Trainee to learn the management of a small driver count and non-traditional shifts, including nights and weekends, while ensuring safe and timely freight movement and best-in-class customer service.

Training will cover DOT compliance, payroll, budgeting, performance reporting, and coordination with drivers, carriers, and customers to optimize routing, load planning, and fleet efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in business, logistics, or related field.
• Demonstrated leadership or management experience, preferably in transportation or logistics.
• Willingness to travel to account, customer, and company locations as needed.
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Learn to build and maintain positive relationships with drivers and carriers to optimize onboarding and productivity.
• Fill in for absent personnel and support special projects to improve fleet operations and profitability.
• Train and assist with driver orientation and internal/customer systems.
• Develop reporting and financial analyses for customers and leadership.
• Assist with yard and equipment management, maintenance coordination, and safety compliance.
• Coordinate with drivers, customers, and staff to resolve service issues and plan routes.
