Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is seeking a Manager Trainee to learn managing a small driver count and non-traditional shifts, including nights and weekends, while ensuring safe and timely freight movement and top-tier customer service.

The role includes training to ensure DOT compliance and handling driver and company regulations, with exposure to planning, routing, monitoring, and delivery of loads across various accounts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or 1 year management experience with HS diploma
• Willingness to travel to account locations
• Ability to work nights and weekends if needed

Responsibilities

• Learn to build positive relationships with drivers and outside carriers.
• Fill in for absent personnel on special projects to optimize fleet operations.
• Train drivers and staff on internal and customer systems.
• Improve efficiency of fleet operations and present reporting and analysis.
• Manage inventory, assets, and driver assignments.
• Handle payroll, budget, driver coaching, and pay issue resolution.
• Oversee yard tasks and coordinate maintenance for account equipment.
• Collaborate with drivers, customers, and staff to resolve service issues.
• Maintain safety culture and ensure DOT compliance.
• Plan loads, route and monitor freight movement to meet schedules.
