Job summary

Wayne-Sanderson Farms in Collins, MS is seeking a Shipping Department Leader to manage all aspects of the shipping function, directing personnel to meet schedules, ensure safety, and maintain product quality and customer satisfaction.

You will coach and develop staff, implement procedures, enforce performance standards, resolve issues, and collaborate with other departments to achieve site goals and zero-contamination targets.

Qualifications

• Minimum four (4) years relevant in a supply chain or shipping environment.
• Experience in perishable foods preferred.
• Strong customer focus with exceptional communication skills.
• Ability to lead and manage staff and enforce policy adherence.
• Proficient computer and math skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage department by establishing procedures and adjusting as necessary to meet shipping schedules, increase efficiencies and meet or exceed budget objectives.
• Oversee day-to-day activities of the department to ensure efficient transportation and storage of materials and safe loading/unloading of product.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization and reduce repeat deficiencies.
• Mentor, coach and train/cross-train employees and provide consistent feedback.
• Administer performance improvement plans and disciplinary actions fairly.
• Follow and promote safety initiatives and ensure PPE compliance for a zero-accident culture.
• Ensure docks and storage facilities are organized and maintained per guidelines.
• Collaborate with other departments to meet goals and understand union contracts if applicable.
• All other duties as assigned.
