Job summary

The role requires coordinating daily shipping operations, mentoring staff, enforcing safety, and collaborating with other departments to meet site goals. Four years in supply chain/shipping and leadership experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum four (4) years experience in supply chain or shipping environment; perishable foods preferred
• Leadership experience including timekeeping, policy adherence and conflict resolution; supervisory experience preferred
• Strong customer focus with excellent verbal and written communication; able to coordinate up and down the chain of command and with external customers
• Proficient computer and math skills; fast-paced environment; strong organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Manage department by establishing procedures to meet shipping schedules and budgets
• Oversee day-to-day shipping activities to ensure efficient transport and safe loading/unloading
• Identify opportunities to optimize processes and reduce deficiencies
• Mentor, coach and train employees; provide feedback and development guidance
• Administer performance improvement plans and disciplinary actions fairly
• Follow safety policies and ensure PPE usage to maintain zero-accident culture
• Maintain organized docks and storage facilities per guidelines
• Collaborate with other departments to meet location goals
• Understand and follow current union contracts if applicable
• Perform other duties as assigned
