Job summary

Wayne-Sanderson Farms is seeking a Shipping Superintendent to lead the shipping department, supervise staff, and ensure safe storage and timely dispatch to customers. You will ensure compliance with SOPs, GMPs and federal/state regulations while driving productivity.

Responsibilities include supervising daily operations, coordinating with production, mentoring staff, and maintaining safe, organized docks and storage. Strong leadership, communication, and logistics skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum four years in a supply chain or shipping environment; perishable foods experience preferred.
• Proven leadership with timekeeping, policy adherence, conflict resolution, and issue resolution.
• Strong computer literacy with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Good communication skills with all levels; multilingual preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills with prioritization and attention to detail.
• Customer-centric attitude, high energy and a strong sense of urgency.

Responsibilities

• Manage department through supervisors following established procedures to meet shipping schedules and budgets.
• Oversee day-to-day activities for efficient transportation and storage of materials.
• Review docks and storage facilities for organization and adherence to guidelines.
• Gather and create reports highlighting bottlenecks and risks to shipping schedules.
• Mentor, coach and train employees; provide feedback and develop talent.
• Administer performance improvement plans and disciplinary actions as needed.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and participate in implementation.
• Wear PPE in all areas where mandatory to promote zero-accident culture.
• Perform additional relevant duties as assigned.
