J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. is seeking a Manager Trainee to learn and assist in governing a small driver count and non-traditional shifts, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Management or GED with 1 year of management/transportation experience
• Willing to travel to account, customer, and company event locations
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends
• Willingness to regionally relocate based on account assignment
• Experience managing a team is preferred
• Ability to analyze situations and make informed decisions

Responsibilities

• Learn to build and maintain positive relationships with drivers and safe carriers for carrier setup, turnover and productivity
• Fill in for absent personnel and work on projects to optimize fleet operations and profitability
• Learn to train drivers and staff, including orientation and system usage
• Assist in reporting and financial analysis for customer-specific needs and KPI measurement
• Manage yard and equipment maintenance coordination for safety and reliability
• Assist with payroll, budgeting, invoicing and operation reports as required
• Collaborate with drivers, customers and staff to resolve service issues and routing changes
• Support safety programs and DOT compliance through ongoing training and communications
