Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. in Richland, WA is seeking a Manager Trainee to learn the management of a small driver count and non-traditional shifts, including nights and weekends, ensuring safe and timely movement of freight and providing best-in-class customer service.

The program trains you to handle DOT compliance, driver oversight, load planning, budgeting and reporting, while collaborating with drivers, customers, and internal teams to optimize operations and profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Experience in management or supervision in transportation/logistics.
• Willingness to travel to account locations when applicable.
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships with drivers and outside carriers to ensure productivity.
• Fill in for absent personnel and support special fleet projects.
• Train drivers and staff on internal and customer systems.
• Plan loads, route freight, monitor performance and report KPIs.
• Ensure DOT compliance and maintain safety cultures.
