Job summary

Spear Transport is seeking a detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to manage freight movements, schedule shipments, and ensure timely deliveries. The role requires strong communication, organization, and the ability to handle multiple priorities while maintaining excellent customer service.

The ideal candidate will have logistics or dispatch experience, knowledge of freight methods and regulations, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and TMS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, or related field.
• Experience in logistics, dispatch, or transportation operations.
• Knowledge of freight, shipping methods, and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily freight shipments, including scheduling pickups and deliveries.
• Communicate with drivers, carriers, and customers to ensure on-time performance.
• Track and monitor shipments to proactively address delays or issues.
• Prepare and maintain transportation documentation (BOLs, PODs, invoices, etc.).
• Negotiate with carriers and build strong relationships with vendors and partners.
• Optimize routes and loads to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
• Handle customer inquiries, provide shipment updates, and resolve service issues.
• Maintain accurate records in TMS (Transportation Management System).
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
• Support the operations team with reporting, analysis, and continuous process improvements.

• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, or related field preferred.
