CLA is seeking a Controller with logistics industry experience to join our CAAS practice in Minneapolis, MN. You will lead financial planning, budgeting, and external reporting for distributed clients, partnering with management and boards.

This role emphasizes internal controls, staff leadership, and strategic advice to clients in distribution, trucking, warehousing, and 3PL sectors; travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; CPA preferred but not required.
• 7+ years accounting/financial experience; logistics industry preferred.
• Proficient in accounting software; QuickBooks experience preferred.
• Strong proficiency with Excel and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Develop internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for budgeting, cash management, and accounting.
• Coordinate financial planning, budgeting, procurements, and investment activities; prepare financial information.
• Direct preparation of financial statements, reports, and forecasts for regulatory needs.
• Evaluate procurement needs and investments; provide strategic recommendations.
• Monitor KPI, financial staff performance, and implement improvements.
• Advise management on short- and long-term financial objectives and policies.
• Communicate with boards, bankers, and investors; prepare board presentations.
