Job summary

CLA is seeking a Controller with Logistics industry experience to join our CAAS practice. The role focuses on outsourced accounting and strategic financial leadership for clients in distribution, trucking, warehousing, and 3PL sectors.

The position involves developing internal controls, directing financial planning, preparing comprehensive financial reports, and advising management on financial strategy. Travel to client sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; CPA preferred but not required.
• 7 years of relevant accounting/financial experience; logistics industry preferred.
• Experience with accounting software; QuickBooks preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook.
• Travel includes local travel to/from client sites and occasional non-local travel.

Responsibilities

• Develop internal control policies for budgeting, cash, and accounting.
• Direct financial planning, budgeting, procurements, and investments.
• Prepare and direct preparation of financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, budgets, or regulatory reports.
• Evaluate procurement of funds and surpluses and make recommendations.
• Monitor KPIs and the performance of accounting staff; implement actions.
• Advise management on short- and long-term financial objectives, policies, and actions.
• Communicate with boards, bankers, investors; prep for board presentations.
