Job summary

CLA, a national accounting firm, seeks a Controller with logistics industry experience to join its CAAS practice. You will oversee internal controls, budgeting, and financial reporting for distribution, trucking, warehousing, and 3PL clients, guiding senior leadership and client relations.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree and about 7 years of relevant accounting experience; CPA is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; CPA preferred but not required.
• 7 years accounting/financial experience required; logistics industry experience preferred.
• Public accounting experience preferred.
• Experience with accounting software; QuickBooks highly preferred.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Develop internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for budgeting, cash/credit management, and accounting.
• Direct financial planning, budgeting, procurements, or investment activities and prepare financial information.
• Prepare and direct preparation of financial statements, reports, and regulatory filings.
• Evaluate funding needs and investment opportunities and provide recommendations.
• Monitor KPIs and evaluate accounting staff performance; implement improvements.
• Advise management on financial objectives, policies, and actions.
• Communicate with boards, bankers, investors, and stakeholders; prepare board presentations.
