Job summary

CLA, also known as CliftonLarsonAllen, seeks a Controller with logistics industry experience to join the CAAS practice in Minneapolis, MN. The role involves leading financial planning, budgeting, and reporting, with emphasis on internal controls and client service excellence.

You will work 1:1 with clients to provide tailored accounting services and manage financial operations, ensuring compliance and strategic growth for client organizations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience.
• 7 years of accounting/financial experience required; logistics industry preferred.
• CPA certification preferred but not required.
• Proficiency with accounting software and systems; QuickBooks preferred.
• Proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook, and related MS Office tools.
• Travel primarily in-office with local travel to client sites; some non-local travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Develop internal control policies and procedures for budgeting, cash and credit management, and accounting.
• Direct financial planning, budgeting, procurements, or investments; prepare financial information.
• Prepare/oversee financial statements, forecasts, budgets, and regulatory reports.
• Evaluate fund procurement needs and investment of surpluses; provide recommendations.
• Monitor KPI and financial staff performance; implement improvements.
• Advise management on short- and long-term financial objectives and actions.
• Communicate with boards, bankers, investors, and stakeholders; prepare board presentations.
