Job summary

BlueLinx Corporation in Des Moines, IA is seeking professional drivers with a valid CDL-A. The role offers home every night and weekend, with guaranteed daily pay and first-shift hours.

You will operate flatbed and curtain-side trailers with no tarping and benefit from new, safe equipment. Requirements include 12 months of tractor-trailer experience, a clean driving record, and the ability to secure loads in all weather.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL required.
• Minimum 21 years of age.
• 12 months of tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years.
• Safe driving record required.
• Ability to secure loads and operate in all weather.

Responsibilities

• Secure loads properly; no tarping, use straps.
• Deliver freight accurately and handle customer returns when required.
• Manage Proof of Delivery paperwork from customers.
• Interact professionally with customers and communicate issues.
• Maintain daily safety checklist and perform DOT inspections.
• Maintain electronic logbook and complete trip reports.
• Direct unloading by customers when required.

What You’ll Deliver

• Properly secure loads. NO tarping – ONLY strapping
• Accurate and timely delivery of freight and handling of customer product returns when required
• Manage Proof of Delivery paperwork from customers
• Interact professionally with customers and communicate customer issues
• Maintain daily safety checklist and perform all required DOT inspections
• Maintain electronic logbook and complete trip reports
• Direct the unloading by customers, when required

How You’ll Deliver
