Job summary

Estes Express Lines seeks a skilled CDL driver (Class B/A) to safely operate a tractor-trailer, perform inspections, and ensure compliance with FMCSA regulations. The role includes loading/unloading freight, maintaining driver records, and delivering professional customer service across various routes and terrains.

The candidate must meet licensing, medical, and English-language requirements, possess a clean MVR, and be able to lift 70 lbs. A Hazmat endorsement is recommended but not required.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Class B or Class A CDL.
• Must be 21 years of age if going interstate (1 year driving experience).
• Must be registered with the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.
• Must reside within 75 miles of the domiciled Service Center and/or work assignment.
• Air brake endorsement required if equipped with air brakes.
• Stable employment history preferred.
• Able to operate a forklift (minimum 7,500 lb).
• Must be able to push or pull a loaded pallet jack and/or hand truck (70 lbs).
• Must pass a FMCSA medical exam and road test.
• Must meet FMCSA English language requirements (read and speak).
• Must be able to lift 70 lbs. or more.

Responsibilities

• Operate Class B CDL Straight Truck to transport freight following FMCSA regulations.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of tractor and trailer.
• Conduct loading/unloading at docks as needed.
• Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal laws.
• Provide safe, courteous service to customers and the public.
• Report maintenance issues to Fleet Services or supervision.
• Fulfill schedule and adapt to business needs.
