Job summary

Harvard Protection Services seeks a Customer Service Officer to provide professional security and life safety services in a client-focused environment. You will maintain a visible presence, greet guests, monitor activity, and enforce site policies to protect people and property.

The role requires a valid security license, a high school diploma or GED, reliable transport, strong communication, and a neat appearance. Prior security, law enforcement, or customer service experience is helpful.

Qualifications

• State or municipality mandated security officer licenses.
• Minimum High School Diploma, GED or the equivalent.
• Must have reliable means of communication and transportation.
• Must have a security guard license or be able to obtain one within an acceptable period.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and friendly, professional demeanor.
• Neat and professional appearance.
• Computer skills and ability to operate security and communication devices.
• Write routine log entries and incident reports.
• Contract security, law enforcement, military, or customer service experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional demeanor with customers, employees, visitors, and guests.
• Maintain a visible presence in the assigned facility.
• Monitor environment and detect suspicious/unsafe activity.
• Know the facility policies and enforce them within limits.
• Greet and assist customers, visitors, staff, tenants, and guests.
• Answer questions and support guests and employees.
• Answer phones professionally and efficiently.
• Control access for authorized persons entering the property.
• Perform patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle.
• Prepare reports on accidents, incidents and suspicious activities.
