Job summary

Harvard Protection Services is seeking a Customer Service Officer to support our security and life safety services across client sites. You will greet visitors, monitor entrances, respond to incidents, and prepare incident reports in a professional manner.

Requirements include a minimum high school diploma or GED, valid security licenses where required, reliable transportation, and strong interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• State or municipality mandated security officer licenses.
• Minimum High School Diploma, GED or the equivalent.
• Must have reliable means of communication and transportation.
• Must have a security guard license or be able to obtain one within an acceptable period.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and friendly, professional demeanor.
• Neat and professional appearance.
• Computer skills and ability to operate security and communication devices.
• Write routine correspondence including log entries and incident reporting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional demeanor while aiding customers, employees, visitors, and guests.
• Maintain a visible presence in the facility / building assigned.
• Monitor the environment and detect suspicious activity.
• Be familiar with incoming/outgoing traffic and know customers, tenants, visitors, and guests.
• Greet people professionally.
• Answer questions and assist guests and employees.
• Answer phones professionally.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances/exits.
• Enforce facility policies and procedures.
• Perform patrols of designated areas on foot or vehicle.
• Observe departing personnel to protect property and ensure proper removal.
• Follow emergency action plans and procedures.
• Monitor alarms and systems as required.
• Prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities.
