Job summary

Harvard Protection Services seeks a Customer Service Officer to provide professional security and life safety services at client facilities in New York. You will greet visitors, monitor access points, patrol premises, and respond to incidents with a customer-focused approach.

Requirements include state- or municipality-licensed security credentials, a high school diploma or GED, and reliable transportation. The role offers an hourly pay rate with health, dental, vision, leave, and 401K benefits.

Qualifications

• Security officer licenses required by state/municipality.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Reliable means of communication and transportation required.
• Must have a security guard license or obtain one quickly.
• Strong interpersonal and professional demeanor.
• Neat and professional appearance.
• Computer skills to operate security and communication devices.
• Ability to write routine log entries and incident reports.
• Experience in contract security, law enforcement, military, or customer service helpful.

Responsibilities

• Maintain professional demeanor while aiding customers, employees, visitors, and guests.
• Maintain visible presence in the assigned facility.
• Monitor environment to detect suspicious or unsafe activity.
• Familiarize with access points, customers, tenants, visitors, and guests.
• Greet people professionally; assist guests and employees.
• Answer questions and provide customer-focused support.
• Answer phones professionally.
• Control entry/exit for authorized persons.
• Enforce facility policies within limits.
• Perform patrols by foot or vehicle.
• Monitor for theft or unauthorized removal of property.
• Follow emergency procedures and action plans.
• Monitor alarms and systems as required.
• Prepare reports on accidents and incidents.
