Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 3 months related experience; Forklift certification required.
• Forklift operator certification required.
• Ability to read and write to handle work orders and labeling tasks.
• Knowledge of safety procedures for forklift driving and material handling.
• Manual dexterity and ability to use simple hand tools.
• Ability to count items and verify against prepared lists.

Responsibilities

• Loads/unloads materials from pallets, trucks, or customer vehicles; applies strapping, bracing or padding to prevent shifting.
• Determines load weight, composition and placement based on order and truck capacity for safe hauling.
• Reads work orders or follows oral instructions to identify materials to move.
• Conveys materials using hand truck, electric dolly, forklift or other device.
• Opens containers and labels items to ensure correct identification.
