Job summary

Builders FirstSource, the leading supplier of building materials, seeks a motivated loader/unloader to join our yard team. You will load and unload materials, assemble and secure truck loads, and ensure safe, balanced shipments to customer jobsites.

The role requires reading order details, operating a forklift, and using hand tools as needed. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, at least three months of related experience, and forklift certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with a basic level of reading and math ability.
• Minimum of three months experience performing loading/unloading or similar tasks.
• Forklift certification is required to operate equipment safely.
• Knowledge of weight, shape and handling requirements for materials.

Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trucks or vehicles.
• Assembles load packages and secures with strapping or padding.
• Performs load-building based on order and vehicle capacity.
• Moves materials using hand trucks, forklifts or other devices.
• Reads work orders to determine materials and quantities.
