Job summary

Builders FirstSource, Inc. is seeking a warehouse loader to load/unload materials in the yard or at customer sites and prepare loads for delivery. You will build loads based on weight, placement, and vehicle capacity while following orders and using forklifts or hand trucks.

Applicants should have a GED or high school diploma, at least 3 months of related experience, and forklift certification. The job requires safety awareness and occasional lifting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with at least 3 months of related work experience or equivalent
• Forklift operator certification is required
• Ability to read and write to handle work orders and labeling tasks

Responsibilities

• Load and unload materials from pallets, trucks, or customer vehicles and secure with straps or padding
• Assemble loads by determining weight, composition, and placement for safe transport
• Read work orders or follow oral instructions to identify materials to move
• Transport materials within storage or yard using hand trucks, electric dollies, forklifts, or other devices
• Open containers and load using hand tools and attach labels for correct identification
• Follow safety procedures and participate in safety meetings to prevent injuries
