Job summary

Builders FirstSource is hiring for a Yard Worker role in the United States. The position involves loading and unloading materials, assembling load packages for delivery, and ensuring loads are balanced and safely transported to customer job sites.

You will operate forklifts, read work orders, and maintain accurate identification and labeling of items while following all safety procedures and participating in regular safety trainings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; three months experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Forklift certification required.

Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads materials onto pallets, trucks or customer vehicles; secures loads with straps or padding to prevent movement.
• Performs load-building, determining weight and balance for safe hauling.
• Reads work orders or follows oral instructions to identify materials to move.
• Conveys materials to designated areas using hand truck, electric dolly, forklift or other devices.
• Attaches labels or tags to materials to ensure correct identification.
• Adheres to all safety procedures and participates in periodic safety meetings.
