Job summary

Mount Saint Mary College is seeking an Instructional Support Specialist to assist with digital learning operations and LMS support for faculty and students in on-campus settings. You will train users, troubleshoot LMS issues, and develop helpful resources to improve online and hybrid courses.

The role includes coordinating with the Director to deliver orientation programs, support communications and technology initiatives, and contribute to daily office operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Communications, Educational Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Exceptional written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong customer service orientation with timely and professional support to faculty, staff, and students.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
• Ability to learn and support new software applications and educational technologies.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate records, and perform administrative tasks with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary point of support for faculty in the LMS for various instructional modes through training and troubleshooting.
• Support the design and delivery of trainings and workshops on LMS use in instruction.
• Develop resources (documentation, video tutorials, support materials) for LMS use and tech-enhanced instruction.
• Assist faculty with development and editing of instructional content for online placement, including multimedia.
• Support development of the Online Learning Student Orientation Tutorial (OLSOT) for hybrid/online students.
• Provide outreach for Digital Teaching Toolkits and faculty newsletters throughout the year.
• Provide secondary support to instructional design projects and office administrative tasks.
• Maintain the office web presence and social media; participate in committees as requested.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director.
