Job summary

Miami University (Ohio) seeks an Assistant Director of Residence Life to provide leadership for the Office of Residence Life. This live‑on position oversees 6–12 live‑in staff and directs central and collateral duties, including RA recruitment and program supervision.

Qualifications

Master's degree required in a related field or higher education.
At least 3 years post-master’s professional experience in higher education residence life.

Responsibilities

Supervise, train and evaluate full‑time master’s level area coordinators and resident directors, bachelor’s level community managers, and/or part-time graduate student staff (40%).
Lead one departmental initiative: RA recruitment & selection, leadership development, training, or staff development.
Manage crises and serious incidents in collaboration with supervisees and campus resources.
Teach departmental or divisional courses.
Assist with student retention initiatives and enhanced visibility in the halls.
Serve as a hearing administrator and contribute to student conduct processes.
Fulfill other duties assigned by the Office of Residence Life and Miami University.
