Job summary

Lake Erie College is seeking a Resident Director for a part-time, live-in role reporting to the Executive Director of Student Affairs. You will oversee a housing community, supervise Resident Assistants, and support student welfare through policy enforcement and programming.

The RD will manage on-call duties, coordinate RA meetings, and ensure housing operations run smoothly while maintaining strong campus culture and collaboration with staff.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and clear background check.
• Strong communication, computer, and organizational skills.
• Demonstrates initiative and is solution-oriented.
• Able to maintain confidentiality and professional conduct.

Responsibilities

• Manage a residential living community of 120–250 residents.
• Train, supervise, and evaluate 2–3 Resident Assistant staff.
• Participate in 24-hour on-call responsibilities and submit reports.
• Facilitate weekly RA staff meetings and 1:1 meetings with RA staff.
• Maintain weekly office hours (10–15 hours per week).
• Assist with check-in/check-out processes and housing operations.
• Supervise summer staff and lead special housing projects.
• Coordinate room inspections and health/safety checks.
