Job summary

Ohio Northern University seeks an Assistant Director to provide on-campus support to a 2200 bed community and to oversee Residence Life operations. The role is live-on, with a fully furnished apartment and utilities provided.

Experience in Residence Life is required. You will recruit and supervise para-professional staff, coordinate campus programming and drive assessment efforts across the division of Student Affairs.

• Residence Life experience required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as ambassador/liaison for the Office of Residence Life and Division of Student Affairs.
• Assist Director with development/implementation of annual goals, training initiatives, calendar development, assessment strategies and fulfilling department/division objectives.
• Oversee the recruitment, selection, training and supervision of all paraprofessional staff and summer staff.
• Implement campus-wide programming initiatives for traditional and non-traditional populations.
• Develop marketing initiatives for the office via social media and advertisements.
• Assist with Homecoming planning.
• Assist in the development and administration of assessment initiatives for the Office of Residence Life.
• Coordinate paraprofessional staff training initiatives for Division of Student Affairs.
• Serve on designated committees and initiatives for the division of Student Affairs.
• Work directly with web-based housing software (e.g. room selection, reports, etc.).
• Manage and update the Office of Residence Life webpage and other social media outlets.
• Attend weekly residence life staff meeting with 12 paraprofessional Resident Directors.
• Co-facilitate opening and closing of residential areas and other administrative functions.
• Fulfill responsibilities of the Director and Housing Coordinator in his/her absence.
• Develop and coordinate desk operations where applicable.
• Provide on-call coverage as the Professional Staff On-Call on a rotating basis with Director.
• Serve as a core member of the Care Team, reaching out to students and completing wellness checks, and attending weekly Care Team meetings
• Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
