Job summary

Wolfoods, a camp dining provider, seeks an experienced Assistant Kitchen Manager for a hands-on leadership role at our rural summer camp operations. This on-site, live-in position runs May through September with a demanding 6-day/70-hour week and competitive seasonal pay plus bonus and benefits including room and board.

You will oversee prep and production for designated day parts, manage staff, ensure allergen safety, and work with camp leadership to deliver high-quality meals across facilities.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a commercial kitchen leadership role with scratch and institutional/batch cooking.
• ServSafe Allergens certification required before start date.
• Strong leadership, cooking, able to navigate iPad, versatile with ingredients, and sharp problem-solving abilities.
• Stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs.
• Willing to live on-site in a rustic setting and work a demanding minimum 6-day/70-hour week.

Responsibilities

• Operations & Leadership: Lead and train kitchen staff; foster a high-energy, positive environment.
• Culinary & Quality Excellence: Flow, portion control, menu specs, scratch cooking and timely meal service.
• Allergen & Safety Compliance: Manage food allergy protocols and sanitation standards.
• Administration & Budget: Manage inventory and assist with daily reporting.
• Client Relations: Liaison between kitchen operations, campers, and camp leadership.
