Job summary

Bank of America is seeking a detail-oriented professional to handle moderately complex legal documents, interpret laws, and manage a high-volume caseload within the Legal Order operations team. You will determine fund attachments, exemptions, and responses to courts and agencies while ensuring compliance and timely deliverables.

Responsibilities include reviewing orders, applying federal/state laws, and creating customer notifications.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication, including ability to comprehend complex legal documents.
• Ability to manage a high-volume caseload of litigation requests, subpoena responses, and document retrieval while meeting SLAs and deadlines.
• Proven ability to research, identify, and retrieve responsive documents across multiple banking products, systems, and repositories with high quality and compliance.
• Strong organizational and time management skills; prioritize competing demands and manage multiple cases with accuracy.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills for time-sensitive matters.
• Ability to interpret follow-up documents affecting orders and quickly decide legal matters.
• Adapt to changing regulatory requirements and business needs in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Review complex legal orders and apply state or federal laws to determine fund attachments.
• Process attachments for levies, garnishments, and related notices tied to debts or criminal activity.
• Determine eligibility for state or Federal exemptions and apply exemptions as needed.
• Initiate payments to agencies or courts as applicable.
• Create customer notification letters for account activity and provide official bank responses to courts or agencies.
• Communicate with external agencies including law enforcement as needed and maintain caseload discipline.
• Accurately interpret legal documents and manage caseload with timely, accurate responses.
• Work with minimal supervision, making decisions within defined guidelines.
