Qualifications

• 3+ years of legal assistant experience supporting litigators in civil defense in a high-volume, fast-paced law firm environment.
• IL State and Federal Court filing including E-Filing experience required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) required.
• Requires critical thinking, strong communication and organizational skills, decisive judgment, high attention to detail, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• File and circulate pleadings in state and federal court.
• Maintain docketing for attorneys and assist with deadlines per rules.
• Provide administrative support: processing invoices, coordinating depositions, ensuring client preferences are followed.
• Assist with opening new files and collecting information from clients.
• Coordinate travel and scheduling, manage attorney schedules and meetings.
• Prepare correspondence and other written documents under attorney direction.
• Track subpoenas and information requests and disposition.
• Organize and maintain files; monitor and escalate issues as needed.
