Job summary

Cole, Scott & Kissane is seeking a full-time Litigation Legal Assistant in our Miami office to support two busy attorneys. Insurance Defense experience is required, with strong organizational and communication skills to thrive in a fast-paced litigation environment.

The candidate will assist with depositions, hearings, trials, and conferences, manage electronic files, calendar deadlines, and coordinate meetings. Proficiency in Litify, iManage, and MS Office is essential.

Qualifications

2–3 years experience as a legal assistant.
Familiarity with legal procedures & terminology.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Understanding of Federal and Florida Rules of Civil Procedure.
Experience with electronic filing in state and federal courts and calendaring.
Knowledge of the litigation process.
Knowledge of Florida E-Filing (ECF).
Experience with Trial preparation.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills; typing and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently.
Case/Document management using Litify, iManage, Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and stay calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

Assist lawyers and paralegals with day-to-day litigation tasks.
Prepare for depositions, hearings, trials, and conferences.
Handle administrative duties: meetings, scheduling, calls, and file organization.
Schedule hearings, depositions, mediations, and conferences.
Compile and organize documents; prepare binders/folders.
Gather and organize records and materials.
Schedule and calendar events.
