Job summary

DLA Piper is seeking an associate to join its Litigation group, Product Liability, Mass Torts & Class Actions subgroup, to work with its Class Actions practice. This position is o open to any US office, with a preference for New York metropolitan based candidates.

Candidates will hold a JD and be admitted to practice in the applying jurisdiction, with a minimum of four years of litigation experience—preferably at an AmLaw 100 firm. Hybrid work arrangements are available.

Qualifications

• JD and bar admission in the jurisdiction where applying.
• Minimum 4 years of litigation experience, preferably at an AmLaw 100 firm.
• Experience with class action defense including securities, data/privacy, or consumer litigation.
• Experience managing multi-matter dockets.
• Strong persuasive legal writing skills.
• Experience running large-scale discovery.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategy.
• Draft well-written briefs, motions, contracts, and correspondence.
• Assist/manage complex cases from inception to resolution including trials.
• Maintain strong client relationships with timely updates and advice.
• Collaborate with lawyers to develop innovative case strategies.
• Attend hearings, depositions, negotiations, and trials as needed.
• Ensure compliance with legal standards and firm policies.
• Pursue ongoing training to enhance knowledge and leadership skills.
• Engage in firm citizenship, pro bono work, and community initiatives.
