Job summary

DLA Piper is seeking an associate to join its Litigation group, Product Liability, Mass Torts & Class Actions subgroup, to work with its Class Actions practice. This position is open to any US office, with a preference for New York metropolitan based candidates.

The role requires a JD, bar admission, and a minimum of 4 years of litigation experience, including class action defense, strong writing skills, and experience managing multi-matter dockets.

Qualifications

• JD required with bar admission in the applicable jurisdiction.
• Minimum of 4 years of litigation experience, preferably at an AmLaw 100 firm.
• Experience with class action defense, including securities, data/privacy, or consumer litigation.
• Experience managing multi-matter dockets.
• Strong persuasive legal writing skills.
• Experience running large scale discovery of matters.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy.
• Draft high-quality legal documents, including briefs, motions, contracts, and correspondence.
• Assist/manage complex cases from inception to resolution, including trials, negotiations and settlements.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with lawyers and professionals to develop innovative case strategies.
• Attend and participate in high-level legal activities such as hearings, depositions and trials.
• Ensure compliance with legal standards and firm policies.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and firm citizenship initiatives.
