Job summary

DLA Piper seeks an associate to join its Litigation group, focusing on Class Actions within the Mass Torts & Class Actions subgroup. This position is open to any US office, with a preference for New York metro-based candidates.

JD required and bar admission in the applicable jurisdiction. At least four years of litigation experience, including class action defense, plus strong writing and multi-matter docket management, are essential for success. Hybrid work available.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of litigation experience, preferably at AmLaw 100 firm.
• Experience with class action defense, including securities, data/privacy, or consumer litigation.
• Experience managing multi-matter dockets; federal clerkship preferred.
• Strong persuasive legal writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Legal Research: conduct thorough and comprehensive legal research to support case strategy.
• Legal Writing: draft well-written, error-free briefs, motions, contracts, and correspondence.
• Case/Transaction Assistance: manage complex cases from inception to resolution, including trials and settlements.
• Client Interaction: build and maintain strong client relationships with timely updates and professional conduct.
• Collaboration: work with lawyers and professionals to develop innovative strategies.
• Attend hearings, depositions, negotiations, and trials; ensure compliance with standards.
• Professional Development: pursue ongoing training to enhance knowledge and leadership skills.
