Job summary

Blue Origin in Huntsville seeks a Liquid Systems Responsible Engineer with cryogenic experience to support cryogenic propellant management hardware and manufacturing processes. The role blends design support, shop-floor execution, and process documentation, with travel up to 25% and relocation possible.

You will collaborate to ensure manufacturability, safety, and quality per AS9100/ISO 9001, translating requirements into production-ready hardware while engaging with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• B.S. in aerospace, mechanical, manufacturing engineering, physics, or related field.
• 5+ years in cryogenic fluids and mechanical systems, or manufacturing/industrial process engineering.
• Experience supporting development, integration, or certification of aerospace systems for flight.
• Hands-on experience with fluid/gas components: valves, manifolds, regulators, pressure vessels, instrumentation.
• Experience translating requirements into manufacturing processes and contributing to DFM/DFA.

Responsibilities

• Support hardware ownership of cryogenic propellant management components—defining requirements, conceptual/detailed design, and verification.
• Work on defined subsystems within the Zero-g Propellant Management IPT, escalate complex problems.
• Support trade studies, component design/integration, and supplier interface for fluid/gas hardware.
• Track procurements and hardware dependencies to support delivery schedules.
• Develop manufacturing documentation: work instructions, process flow diagrams, tool designs, inspection plans.
• Support root cause analysis for manufacturing non-conformances; contribute to MRB dispositions.
