Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Software Engineer, Linux Kernel (Starlink) to build and maintain a Linux-based OS underpinning our supercomputer network and Starlink satellite mesh. You will develop high-performance drivers and collaborate across hardware teams to bring up OS/software on new hardware.

Qualifications include a BS in CS/Engineering or 2+ years in software development, with hands-on C/C++ and kernel experience. The role emphasizes reliability, observability tools, and security considerations.

Qualifications

• Hands-on system programming in C/C++ required.
• Experience with Linux kernel or production-grade kernel preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a lean, Linux-based OS for SpaceX supercomputer network and Starlink mesh.
• Write and optimize high-performance device drivers to maximize hardware capabilities.
• Manage deployment, operation, and debugging in production with root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with hardware teams to bring up OS/stack on new hardware.
