Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Software Engineer for the Starlink supercomputer network in Redmond, WA. You will build and maintain a lean Linux-based operating system that underpins our high-reliability network fabric and laser mesh, and you will write device drivers to extract maximum performance from our hardware.

You will collaborate with hardware teams to design next-generation hardware, bring up the OS and software stack, and continuously improve observability, debugging, and deployment tooling

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or science discipline; OR 2+ years of professional software development experience.
• Hands-on system programming experience in C or C++.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a lean, high-reliability Linux-based OS underpinning the supercomputer network fabric and Starlink laser mesh of satellites.
• Write or rewrite high-performance device drivers to maximize hardware capability.
• Deploy, operate, and debug the platform in production; resolve anomalies and improve observability and configuration management.
• Collaborate with hardware teams and external partners to design future hardware and bring up the OS and software stack on it.
