Job summary

5 Star Electric, LLC is seeking an Overhead Distribution Lineman – C Class to support groundman/apprentice duties and work on energized and de-energized distribution lines across Kentucky. The role involves setting poles, stringing wire, installing transformers, and maintaining distribution equipment in varied weather.

Safety is the top priority; field crews operate outdoors, climb poles, and may drive service trucks.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of lineman experience or equivalent hours.
• Valid State Driver License required; CDL preferred.
• Background checks and pre-employment drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Work on electrical line work with thorough knowledge of methods, practices and equipment.
• Maintain safety standards; follow oral and written instructions.
• Operate service truck and read/record data from meter dials.
• Digs holes, sets poles, strings wire, and connects transformers.
• Respond to work orders for disconnections/reconnections/outages; stand on-call after hours.
• Travel for training requirements and potential storm work.
