Job summary

Entergy in Dayton, Ohio seeks an Apprentice in a structured 1st–3rd year lineworker progression. You will climb poles, install hardware, assist with line construction, and support safe switching and maintenance under supervision.

Pre-employment Fitness for Duty is required; completion of an accredited Lineworker Training program or equivalent experience is expected. CDL Class A is required or pursued during progression.

Qualifications

• Hazard awareness and ability to observe safety protocols on-site.
• Willingness to attend safety meetings and follow instructions.
• Ability to work in variable conditions and in close supervision.
• Leadership and ability to direct helpers when required.

Responsibilities

• Climb poles using proper equipment and perform safe linework tasks.
• Assist in erection of lines, install hardware, and handle transmission/distribution equipment.
• Assist in maintainance and inspection under supervision and prep reports.
• Operate company vehicles and obtain/maintain CDL class A as required.
• Support in tree trimming and basic switching operations with qualified personnel.
