Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp in Sandusky, Ohio is hiring Journeyworker Lineworkers to build and maintain electric power systems across our service territory. Openings are primarily in Ohio with potential for other locations; candidates must have completed a recognized lineworker apprenticeship and hold a valid Class A license.

This is a physically demanding, outdoor role requiring stamina, safe driving, the ability to work at heights, and willingness to travel and work extended hours.

Qualifications

• Completion of a federal or state sanctioned line worker apprenticeship with approved documentation (e.g. IBEW Journeyworker Lineworker A Ticket).
• Must possess a valid Class A driving permit by first day of employment.
• Must pass DMV medical exam by first day of employment.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Travels to various job locations within designated region.
• Loads/unloads tools, materials and supplies.
• Lifts and carries equipment to and from job sites.
• Climb poles and install/energize transformers and lines.
• Test and inspect lines and perform routine maintenance.
