Job summary

Entergy is seeking an Apprentice (1st Year) in Cleveland, MS, to train under close supervision in transmission and distribution line work. Responsibilities include pole climbing, pole installation, and assisting with energized circuits up to 600 volts, under safety guidelines and with qualified personnel.

Programs cover 1st–4th year tasks, safety training, and hands-on experience with equipment, tools, and reporting. Travel up to 25% and a safety-sensitive role with pre-employment requirements.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Lineworker Training program or prior demonstrated linework experience required.
• Must be willing to perform less difficult tasks under close supervision.
• Must attend safety meetings and observe hazards to avoid accidents.

Responsibilities

• Assist in low/high voltage line work and basic construction tasks.
• Handle poles, install hardware, and assist in erecting structures.
• Perform basic installation and connections up to 600 volts.
• Assist in transmission/distribution switching with qualified lineman support.
• Assist in tree trimming and routine inspection tasks.
• Operate company vehicles and maintain records/reports.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness on job sites.
