Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and write in English.
• Requires knowledge of extruders, recycling procedures and resin properties.
• Ability to read safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and checklists.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and adhere to production work orders.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of processes and equipment.
• Report any process and equipment problems.
• Assist in training production assistants.
• Organize work for smooth operations.
• Ensure all processes, equipment, employees, safety and housekeeping on assigned lines.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Ensure order set-ups and product quality checks meet specifications.
• Meet scrap goals on assigned lines.
• Assist Maintenance Technicians during breakdowns to minimize downtimes.
• Report malfunctions or unsafe conditions to Sr. Operator or Supervisor.
• Understand and participate in the company’s EHS policy, goals, and objectives.
• Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, traveler and checklists.
• Speak effectively with Managers, co-workers or groups.
• Participate in safety programs and training.
• Attend meetings as scheduled.
• Wear PPE.
• Be a team player with a positive attitude.
• Know the importance of safety, quality, housekeeping and teamwork.
• Be dependable and flexible when work is required in other facets of production.
• Ask questions to prevent errors or seek clarification.
• Work with minimum supervision in a fast-paced environment.
