Job summary

Oak Harbor Freight Lines is seeking a Line Driver to safely move trailers between terminals or meet points, primarily during evenings and overnight hours. You will hook and unhook trailers, with no freight handling required, and be paid for mileage, drops, and wait time.

Requirements include a Class A CDL with Hazmat, Tanker, and Double/Triples endorsements, 1+ year of verifiable CDL experience, DOT medical certification, and a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• Must be 21+ years old.
• CDL with Hazmat, Tanker and Double/Triple endorsements required.
• At least 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience with similar equipment.
• Doubles/triples and chaining experience preferred but not required.
• Valid DOT Medical Certification.
• No DUI, reckless driving, or positive drug/alcohol screen in last 3 years.
• Ability to communicate with customers, co-workers, and dispatch.
• Basic English reading/writing/verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Safely tractor-trailer between terminals or meet points.
• Drive/evening and overnight hours; hook/unhook trailers; no freight handling.
• Meet reliability standards for employees.
• Chain trailers as needed; work in inclement weather.
• Weekend and/or night availability as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Line Driver:

Responsible for safely transporting freight trailers between terminals or designated meet points, primarily during evening and overnight hours. Duties focus on driving and hooking and unhooking trailers; no freight handling is required.

Competitive Mileage Pay

• Earn between $0.70 to $0.78 per mile. Plus, you get an extra $0.03 per mile for triples.
• Get compensated for every drop, hook, CHAINING, and fuel.
• We value your time and pay you for your wait time.
  • Hourly pay $29.98 to $33.17 doe.

Responsibilities:

• Safely and efficiently tractor trailer combinations between terminals or meet points.
• Adapting to challenging conditions like inclement weather and various road conditions.
• Ability to meet the Company’s reliability standard for employees.
• Ability to chain as needed and to work in inclement weather is required.
• Availability to work weekends and/ or nights if needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
