Job summary

Terrain Café at URBN seeks a Line Cook to thrive in a fast-paced, scratch-kitchen environment. You will work across Sauté, Grill and Oven stations, while supporting Salad, Pastry and Prep. The role emphasizes precision, speed, and teamwork to deliver exceptional dining experiences.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in high-volume kitchens, strong communication, and a commitment to food safety. Availability may include mornings, nights, weekends, and select holidays.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a high-volume or scratch kitchen is preferred.
• Comfortable working multiple stations: sauté, grill, oven.
• Experience with salad, prep, and pastry is a plus.
• Good communication with BOH and FOH teams.
• Knowledge of kitchen safety, cleanliness and best practices.
• Able to stand, lift up to 50 lbs, long shifts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meats, seafood, vegetables and other items to recipe and plating standards.
• Execute dishes across multiple stations: sauté, grill, oven; support salad, pastry, prep as needed.
• Ensure consistency in quality, portions and presentation.
• Maintain a clean, stocked and organized station for service.
• Follow food safety and FIFO storage protocols.
• Take direction from chefs, supervisors and managers.
• Communicate effectively with BOH and FOH teams.
• Assist in cleaning, closing, and station breakdown using checklists.
• Support onboarding and training of new team members.
• Occasionally assist in other kitchen roles when trained.
