Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, portioning, and presentation standards.
• Set up and maintain assigned kitchen stations before, during, and after service.
• Execute food orders accurately and efficiently during high-volume periods.
• Follow proper food handling, sanitation, storage, and temperature-control procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked workstation.
• Complete daily prep work and assist with restocking as needed.
• Monitor product quality and communicate inventory concerns to kitchen leadership.
• Label, date, rotate, and store food products.
• Follow all health department and Rack City food-safety standards.
• Assist with cleaning equipment and back-of-house areas; communicate with team.

Position Summary

The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and executing menu items quickly, accurately, and according to Rack City standards. This position works closely with the kitchen team to maintain food quality, ticket times, cleanliness, organization, and a safe working environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, portioning, and presentation standards
• Set up and maintain assigned kitchen stations before, during, and after service
• Execute food orders accurately and efficiently during high-volume periods
• Follow proper food handling, sanitation, storage, and temperature-control procedures
• Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked workstation
• Complete daily prep work and assist with restocking as needed
• Monitor product quality and communicate low inventory or product concerns to kitchen leadership
• Properly label, date, rotate, and store food products
• Follow all health department and company food-safety standards
• Assist with cleaning equipment, kitchen surfaces, floors, and other back-of-house areas
• Communicate effectively with fellow cooks, management, and front-of-house team members
• Help create a positive, team-oriented kitchen environment
• Perform additional duties as assigned by kitchen leadership

Qualifications

• Previous line cook or restaurant kitchen experience preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
• Ability to follow recipes, procedures, and food-safety standards
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be comfortable working around hot equipment, grills, fryers, and other commercial kitchen equipment
• ServSafe certification is a plus

Availability

Candidates should have flexible availability. Evening, weekend, and holiday availability is strongly preferred and may be required based on business needs.
