Job summary

Fish City Grill in Flower Mound, TX is seeking a Line Cook who takes pride in delivering high-quality seafood and honest hospitality. You will prepare, portion, and present menu items per recipes and standards, while maintaining a clean, safe work station and timely ticket flow.

We value teamwork, good judgment, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced kitchen. Prior prep/line cook experience and culinary training are preferred, with a dedication to food safety and cost control.

Qualifications

• High school degree or GED preferred.
• Culinary degree or equivalent preferred.
• 6 months to 1 year minimum experience as a Prep/Line Cook in a full service restaurant; must have knowledge of the cooking techniques utilized in the scope of the Prep/Line position applying for; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Good reading, writing, mathematical and communication skills.
• Able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Good judgment and decision making abilities.
• Must work well with limited supervision within specific position functions, but must be able to interact with other Team Members to accomplish work.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and portion items according to Fish City Grill/ Half Shell’s standards, recipes, and specifications.
• Refer to the Line Check when setting up the station and checking product quality.
• Adhere to ticket times and flow to ensure high quality product.
• Maintain a safe, sanitary, and secure environment; clean station before, during, and after shift.
• Assist with receiving, rotating, labeling, and storing product using FIFO.
• Assist other Line Cooks to support teamwork during high volume periods.
