Position Overview:
AM AND PM LINE COOKS WANTED!
As a Line Cook at Casaléna, you will be an integral part of our kitchen team, responsible for preparing and cooking a wide variety of dishes to meet the demands of our fast-paced dining establishment. Your culinary expertise, attention to detail, and ability to work efficiently under pressure will contribute to delivering high-quality meals and ensuring customer satisfaction. This position requires a passion for food, strong cooking skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-output environment.
Hours: 8am-3:30pm (AM) / 3:30pm-12am (PM)
Key Responsibilities:
- Food Preparation and Cooking:
- Prepare and cook a diverse range of menu items, including appetizers, entrees, and desserts, according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Ensure all ingredients are properly measured, portioned, and prepared before cooking.
- Monitor food cooking times and temperatures to ensure consistent quality.
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling and storage of ingredients.
- Station Setup and Organization:
- Set up and stock your assigned cooking station with all necessary ingredients, equipment, and utensils before service.
- Organize and prioritize tasks to ensure efficient workflow during busy periods.
- Maintain a clean and organized cooking station, including regular cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and work surfaces.
- Timely Execution and Plating:
- Coordinate and collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate preparation of food items.
- Adhere to established ticket times and prioritize orders based on customer preferences and kitchen workload.
- Plate and garnish dishes according to presentation standards, paying attention to detail and aesthetics.
- Quality Control and Menu Knowledge:
- Conduct regular quality checks to ensure that all dishes meet the restaurant's standards for taste, presentation, and portion size.
- Stay up-to-date with menu changes, special offerings, and ingredients to provide accurate information to customers and handle any dietary restrictions or allergies.
- Kitchen Efficiency and Safety:
- Work in a fast-paced environment, maintaining composure and efficiency during peak service times.
- Follow proper kitchen procedures and adhere to health and safety guidelines, including safe handling of equipment and food products.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the kitchen manager or supervisor.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience as a line cook in a high-volume restaurant or similar environment.
- Culinary degree or diploma from a recognized culinary institution preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of various cooking techniques, food preparation methods, and kitchen equipment.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and portioning.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Flexibility to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
