Position Overview:

AM AND PM LINE COOKS WANTED!

As a Line Cook at Casaléna, you will be an integral part of our kitchen team, responsible for preparing and cooking a wide variety of dishes to meet the demands of our fast-paced dining establishment. Your culinary expertise, attention to detail, and ability to work efficiently under pressure will contribute to delivering high-quality meals and ensuring customer satisfaction. This position requires a passion for food, strong cooking skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-output environment.

Hours: 8am-3:30pm (AM) / 3:30pm-12am (PM)

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Food Preparation and Cooking:
  2. Prepare and cook a diverse range of menu items, including appetizers, entrees, and desserts, according to established recipes and quality standards.
  3. Ensure all ingredients are properly measured, portioned, and prepared before cooking.
  4. Monitor food cooking times and temperatures to ensure consistent quality.
  5. Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling and storage of ingredients.
  1. Station Setup and Organization:
  2. Set up and stock your assigned cooking station with all necessary ingredients, equipment, and utensils before service.
  3. Organize and prioritize tasks to ensure efficient workflow during busy periods.
  4. Maintain a clean and organized cooking station, including regular cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and work surfaces.
  1. Timely Execution and Plating:
  2. Coordinate and collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate preparation of food items.
  3. Adhere to established ticket times and prioritize orders based on customer preferences and kitchen workload.
  4. Plate and garnish dishes according to presentation standards, paying attention to detail and aesthetics.
  1. Quality Control and Menu Knowledge:
  2. Conduct regular quality checks to ensure that all dishes meet the restaurant's standards for taste, presentation, and portion size.
  3. Stay up-to-date with menu changes, special offerings, and ingredients to provide accurate information to customers and handle any dietary restrictions or allergies.
  1. Kitchen Efficiency and Safety:
  2. Work in a fast-paced environment, maintaining composure and efficiency during peak service times.
  3. Follow proper kitchen procedures and adhere to health and safety guidelines, including safe handling of equipment and food products.
  4. Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the kitchen manager or supervisor.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Proven experience as a line cook in a high-volume restaurant or similar environment.
  • Culinary degree or diploma from a recognized culinary institution preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of various cooking techniques, food preparation methods, and kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and portioning.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Additional Skills Desired: Grill, Pizza, Pasta, Brunch/Egg, Pastry Experience
