JOB OVERVIEW: Prepare food items according to production requirements and quality standards while maintaining a safe, sanitary work environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and production and portion standards, per check from servers.
  2. Start food items that are prepared ahead of time, ensuring not to over prepare estimated needs.
  3. Date all food containers and rotate as per Crescent standards, ensuring perishables are kept at proper temperatures.
  4. Check pars for shift use, determine necessary preparations, freezer pulls, and line setup. Note out-of-stock items or shortages. Assist in keeping buffet stocked.
  5. Return unused food items to designated storage, covering and dating perishables.
  6. Assist in planning and implementing actions to control food costs, waste, loss, and usage per Crescent standards.
  7. Operate, maintain, and clean kitchen equipment such as deep fryers, broilers, stoves, steamers, food processors, mixers, slicers, ovens, steam tables, tilt kettles, waffle irons, and flat top grills.
  8. Comply with attendance policies and be available to work regularly.
  9. Perform other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.

  • Maintain a professional appearance and manner.

  • Finger and hand dexterity for operating food machinery.
