Job summary

Staffing Solutions of Hawaii is seeking Line Cooks to join a growing and dynamic team in Kaimuki, HI. This on-site, full-time/contract role offers a fixed pay rate of $20 per hour. Applicants must report on time and be available for the dinner shift from 3:00pm to 10:30pm.

The position requires at least 6 months of line cook experience, knife skills, and a strong understanding of Hawaii DOH food safety guidelines. TB clearance, ability to lift 40 lbs, and non-slip shoes are required.

Qualifications

• 6 months of line cook experience in a similar role preferred.
• Understanding of Hawaii DOH food safety guidelines.
• Proficiency in knife skills and fundamental cooking methods.
• Ability to cut consistent portion sizes.
• Must possess a current TB clearance.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. and wear non-slip shoes.
• Comfortable in hot and humid environments for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Sauté, roast, grill, fry, steam, and blanch various foods.
• Assist with food prep, including cutting, chopping, mixing, and sauce preparation.
• Maintain prep sheets, labeling, dating, and proper food storage.
• Assist with prep and utility duties while working on a team.
• Manage tasks efficiently during service and maintain an organized workstation.
• Efficiently work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Follow directions and communicate well with the kitchen team.
